Judging

This Web site will post all exceptional or additional judging standards (as of August 20, 2011).

AHA Standards

Unless otherwise posted, the judging standards will be the same as the AHA book Judging Standards for Horticultural Shows (Agdex 200/47) (Edmonton Public Library CA6 AHO 2007 J72).

Judges

Judges of horticultural categories are certified by the Alberta Horticultural Association. They will review exhibits on Saturday morning (9am to 1pm). Judges may split any class that is over-subscribed and may not award a 1st prize if they feel it is not warranted.

Points will be awarded for each class toward aggregate awards

Exhibits

Exhibits must conform to specifications of the class. Judges will account for growing conditions that have affected the Edmonton region (e.g. frost or hail).

Disputes

The judges' decisions are final. Any dispute must be presented, in writing, to the Show Chair, no later than 5pm on Saturday.
