Welcome to the EHS Photo Galleries

The EHS maintains a library of images with a view to making the best images from EHS history available to view in a series of galleries. Galleries are in constant preparation, so check back periodically if you are interested in great flower and garden photos or the activities of the EHS.

Some images in the library go back several decades, both prints and slides. They are currently being catalogued, with the best to be digitized at a later date. As these older images become available they will likely be included in our online galleries for your enjoyment. In the meantime, enjoy the more recent photos from our archives.

Bench Show

The EHS Bench Show originated in the early 1900s and was an annual show until the 1990s. In 2009, the Bench Show was revived as a special EHS Centennial event. It was so successful that it was restored as an annual event. Since 2009, the Bench Show has been held at Fort Edmonton Park to emphasize its historical importance to the Edmonton area.

EHS City Gardeners: The Centennial and Muttart Gardens

The Edmonton Horticultural Society planted the Centennial Garden in 2007 to commemorate one hundred years (1909 - 2009) of horticultural presence in the City of Edmonton. It is maintained by volunteers of the EHS CityGardeners group. This group also maintains the two rose beds, perennial bed and three annual trial beds on the grounds of the Muttart Conservatory.

EHS Member Galleries

Here you will find galleries of member photos on different subjects. The first member gallery was begun in the spring of 2012 and fccused on the first blooms of spring. The second gallery was created to record the devastation wrought by the hail and thunderstom in the early hours of July 12, 2012.
