About the exchange:

The perennial exchange is an opportunity for EHS members and the public to collect extra plants from their yards and bring them to exchange at no cost. One credit is given for each plant brought and the credit can be traded for a plant that someone else has brought, (perennial for perennial, annual for annual, seed for seed etc.) After the exchange portion of the event, the remaining plants will be sold for very reasonable prices.

Timings:

10:00 AM - NOON : Participants’ plants will be received. Plants are separated into categories in staging area.

** NO ACCESS IS PERMITTED IN THE STAGING AREA EXCEPT EHS VOLUNTEERS **

NOON - 12:30 PM : Sale of plants on the sales table.

Noon - 12:30 PM :Participants are invited to enter staging area to select plants in exchange for their credits.

12:30 PM - 2:00 PM : Remaining plants are sold.

** Vendor tables will sell from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. **

Credits may not be exchanged for vendor products.

Qualifications:
  • Plants should be packaged individually, and potted in sturdy containers (no paper or plastic bags please) Bulk bare root stock is permitted (Iris etc. but should be identified as to the quantity of tubers, bulbs, or corms that are equivalent to 1 plant.
  • Plants must be identified by botanical name if known, or common name, height, colour, location preference and bloom time.
  • NO GUARANTEE is offered that there will be plant material available of equal value to your plants.
  • NO CREDIT is given for Chives or Goutweed.
  • The Exchange Director, whose decision is final, will settle disputes.
